Spring Gardens & Outdoor Furnishings

With spring well underway, it seemed fitting to explore what we are loving in the garden and with outdoor furnishings, as the season rapidly approaches.

We do a lot of exterior furnishings for our client’s and with our typically mild seasons, we can make the most of our outdoor spaces and create additional rooms to use.

As we do on the interior, we like to mix and match and combine a curated collection to complete the overall look and feel of the spaces. Here is a recent installation from our Sonoma Contemporary Cottage.

I love the combination of the modern chairs with striped cushions and the simple parsons style teak table in a gray finish.

Another view with the trio of chaise lounge chairs. Adding custom pillows adds that finished look.

Fire pits are often on our client’s list for outdoor spaces. We love the detail on the back of these Adirondack chairs and the sculptural tables added for drinks at each chair.

This backyard is not a huge space but the thoughtful placement of sitting areas helps to create the feeling of more space.

Here are a few outdoor pieces that we are loving for this season.

The Perfect Teak Table

Last year I tackled my own backyard this time of year with a big picture approach and a lot less DIY from yours truly. Luckily, I had a very talented client that creates the most beautiful gardens be willing to create a planting design for my garden. We started with a layout of the backyard and she got to work selecting the array of plants to fill in the larger bed areas.

Here is the garden layout and the planting design and the rough drawing of the planting plan.

And here are some images of the selected plants for the backyard.

Here’s the blog post on how this project turned out!

Cheers, to Spring in Sonoma County!
